Smart Tactics: Consistency is one of the most impactful factors to your success as a real estate agent. In fact, consistency is even more important than skill or strategy. Even if you aren’t that great at sales conversations or you have a bunch of dead leads you’re working, you will produce more results than someone else who is amazing at sales, has all the best leads…but takes no action. Consistently taking the actions necessary to book appointments and get contracts every week is the secret to producing more closings than you thought possible.

How to get more consistent…here are the couple of things that have worked for me: I have to get SUPER clear on what my intention is. If it’s to sell 30, 40, 60 homes a year…then I identify the most crucial steps to achieving that. Once I’ve identified them I make a simple and SUSTAINABLE plan to execute them. Then every day, I focus on what I said I would do and take the actions necessary. Here’s a pro tip: I have also had to develop the strength to recognize when my emotions or ego want to take me off the simple path I’ve laid out and chase the next shiny idea or tactic. I have to remind myself all the time to: STAY THE COURSE.

Each week, I rinse and repeat. I work every week to get a little more consistent, a little closer to doing all the basic steps as well and as faithfully as I can.

Here is my simple process to determine if you are on or off track at any given time:

  • What’s my 1 goal
  • What are the 3-5 steps to achieve it
  • Do I have a plan to execute the 3-5 steps
  • Do I have a schedule for when to execute the 3-5 steps
  • Do I have the skill to execute the 3-5 steps
